S.E. Hinton’s 1967 novel, The Outsiders, follows two rival groups, the Greasers and the Socs in 1960’s Oklahoma. The colour choices are a considered response to the narrative and key plot points, with minimal graphics and cultural signifiers aiming to capture the spirit and story of The Outsiders - tough, stark, edgy and hinting
at the trouble to come.
