ABOUT
We only went and made a bloomin’ puzzle game! MAOAM Mega Vend Recharge is our latest foray into the world of apps, and we’re pretty chuffed. Conceptualised by the team, designed by Pirate, animations by John, built by Handsome Will, and some obnoxiously catchy music by James, it’s a little bundle of puzzley goodness.
But we didn’t just do it for funs (even though it was to make!) MAOAM came to us with a brief to extend their “Mega Vend” experiential activity into digital. As users connections to the web continue to fragment across the myriad of devices we all use. MAOAM’s core teen audience has embraced the smartphone with vigor. Don’t take our word alone for that one though, check out the facts:
83% of 11 to 18 year olds now own a smartphone (Orange Survey Nov. 2012)
35% of 12-15 use a mobile phone as their primary gaming device (Ofcom)
If you want to delve a little deeper into this we put together a handy little infograhpic you can check out here.
The game was promoted both through Facebook and Google. Using banners and animations created from game play. The Crab team planned out the media strategy across the relevant devices and channels. Google includes - Mobile in app ads and YouTube advertising. Mobile is the ley to targeting our key audience.
Our research shows that over 90% of people move between devices to accomplish a goal, so reaching customers on-the-go is more important than ever before. According to Google in 2012 there were over 100 billion minutes spent per month on mobile apps and this is set to climb over the coming years.
