Background:
Alternative Networks is a leading provider of IT solutions to businesses from device to datacentre. Now in its fourth year, FusionLIVE allows them to bring together their full portfolio of business technology and key partners, giving customers everything their businesses need under one roof. As an industry leader it was essential that the use of technology, innovation and collaboration was reflected throughout the networking event and within the event ID, theme and content.

Solution:
The blank white walls at Location house were the perfect canvas, allowing the team to completely transform the space. The event theme focused on the idea of a technological network and represented delegates ability to work from anywhere and everywhere using Alternative Networks’ technology. With this in mind, the main networking room was broken up into smaller segments which included a combination of supplier demonstration pods, allowing them to demonstrate different technologies; presentation areas and a large networking garden showcasing a 20-foot projection and live twitter wall. Each segment reflected a different working environment (E.g. On a train, at the beach, in the office and in a café).

The content was also key; customers were attending to hear industry leaders speak on key topics. With so many of the client’s suppliers and partners together we felt it would be fitting to create an innovative space that reflected this collaboration in addition to the main keynote theatre. The ‘Collaboration’ theatre used a semi-circle of tiered seating and floor graphics to mark its boundaries. Hosting the panel discussions within the main networking space gave them an informal feel and allowed all delegates to listen from around the circular space.

Outcome:
The event's objectives focused on networking and engaging with delegates in innovative ways. The venues open plan layout created a natural flow for delegates around the event space and encouraged them to engage in each activity, sponsor, discussion and networking initiative throughout the day. Being at the forefront of technology we wanted to make sure the event was interactive and showed innovative use of technology. We implemented a motion wall within the main space to capture delegates and allow them the opportunity to engage with the clients and their partner’s brands.
