ABOUT

50% of the 3 billion gamers worldwide are women, yet they only represent 22% of employees in gaming studios, which means that female characters in games tend to be hypersexualised and clichéd compared to male characters. Women in Games wanted to address the gender imbalance within the gaming industry, so it hacked the game files of dozens of mainstream video games. By swapping the animations used for male and female characters, GenderSwap portrayed male video game heroes like their female counterparts.
