ABOUT

The Hayman family have been producing True English Gin since 1863. Moving the distillery to its new premises in Balham, South West London, just four miles short of where the family’s first distillery opened, has enabled Hayman’s to open The Home of English Gin – where production works alongside hospitality and visitors are welcomed into a warm contemporary environment, elegantly housed within a period warehouse.

The idea behind the design and layout of the distillery, brand home and visitor centre was to embody the passion, expertise and heritage of Hayman’s gin making with the feeling of being invited into a contemporary aspirational English home, allowing visitors to feel instantly at the heart of the process.

A glazed entrance provides an open welcome, greeted by three shiny copper pot stills – Miranda, Marjorie and Karin – named after three generations of important women from the Hayman family. The lab area introduces guests to the botanicals and recipes behind the range of gins, the hub of any home – a working space where flavours and processes are experimented with and quality is paramount.

A mezzanine bar and a lounge provide extended comfort and an informal space to enjoy those classic gin cocktails. We sourced items of classical elegance and artwork and used warm subtle lighting to complete a home for Hayman’s True English Gin back where it all began over 150 years ago.
