Design Makes You Feel - An experiential campaign by Conran Design Group -

Published by

Brand design agency, Conran Design Group undertook a week-long experiential campaign in its home at the Havas HKX Village in King’s Cross.

The agency has taken is over six lifts in the building for a campaign that explores the impact of design.

The creative themes (one in each lift) explore how design can influence behaviour and perception. The lift themes cover ‘Fear’ ( a ‘no floor’ vinyl suggests falling down the lift shaft), ‘Disco’ (complete with mirror ball, this lift echoes a 70s vibe with a boombox and flashing disco lights), ‘Home’ (laid out with a comfy sofa, cushions, room scent and a sidelight, this lift evokes a homely feeling), ‘Quiet’ ( this lift is covered in soundproofing foam and is dimly lit, it promotes the joy of silence), ‘Cat and Dog’ (the age-old argument comes to life in this lift and asks people to pick a side… ‘which one are you?’) and finally ‘Welcome’( this lift has an authentically dressed bellhop (actor) who welcomes people to work in the morning and wishes them a safe journey home when they leave in the evening). The lifts are designed to evoke an emotional response in people as they enter the lift and go to their designated floors.

Response to the campaign has been exceptional. Havas staff have got on board and are enjoying the sense of fun the experience promotes, but it has also got them thinking about the power of design. The campaign was also accompanied by a brochure desk drop to 1700 staff across all floors.
