Connor Curran Prop Builder

ABOUT

For my Final Major Project at university, I designed and built a full-scale TARDIS console inspired by Gothic cathedral architecture. Drawing from the vaulted arches, stained glass, and intricate ornamentation of medieval churches, I reimagined the iconic Doctor Who time machine as a sacred, mythical space. The design process involved detailed concept sketches, 3D modelling in Blender, and technical drawings to refine the structure and plan the build. Crafted primarily from wood and acrylic, the console features hand-finished stone and metal textures, working electronics, and a motorised central column made from illuminated stained glass panels. This project combined traditional artistry with engineering, creating a piece that blends ancient craftsmanship with futuristic storytelling—a cathedral of time.
