Conde Nast London

ABOUT

While serving as Design Director for Details Magazine (Condé Nast) I was responsible for leading a full-book format reboot. At the time, the magazine had a number of departments, each with its own look and format. The directive was to create a unified font of sectional rubriks and a new typographic program to achieve a cohesive branding while still leaving ample room for creative freedom within each department. The challenge was to do the most with the least, and to do it in a graphically modern, distinctly recognizable way. After a number of initial explorations, I landed upon a theme combining rounded and squared off design attributes, extended into an array of layout devices and inline rubric letterforms.
