ABOUT
The project
The Leadership Conference is the opportunity for the 220 senior global management of AkzoNobel (One of the world’s leading industrial companies, active in Decorative Paints, Performance Coatings and Specialty Chemicals.) to come together to review key business strategies and initiatives.
The challenge
AkzoNobel wanted to not only make best use of technology to increase interaction, during the three days of the conference, but also needed the attendees to fully embrace a key HR initiative to drive cultural change throughout the global organisation.
The solution
Concise and Imagination worked closely with the internal communications team at AkzoNobel to create a fully interactive on-brand iPad app. This replaced all printed conference collateral and therefore allowed fuller flexibility, providing attendees with an interactive agenda, welcome information, health and safety considerations and a number of interactive tools.
Participants were able to log questions at any time, during the 3-day conference, making for improved Q&A sessions and allowing the management team to follow-up on un-answered questions post event.
The system also facilitated dynamic voting and the creation of word clouds which increased interactivity and detailed presentations were viewed using the iPad allowing information to be shared in a more meaningful way.
Feedback was provided at the end of each day, via a detailed form, which allowed the sessions the following day to take on board specific requests and tailor the meeting to the needs of the audience.
Lastly, the iPad app allowed each participant to endorse the all important new HR initiative which has since ensured a global commitment to this project.

The results

All of the delegate notes and relevant presentations were emailed to each participant some 2 hours after the conference closed further demonstrating the efficiency of the system.
