ABOUT
The project
One hundred and fifty senior executives were invited to the three-day Management Summit to provide clarity and stimulate discussion on strategic priorities.
The Summit included presentations, speeches, team exercises, audience interactivity and networking sessions.
The challenge
The decision to incorporate interactive iPad technology in the event was taken to provide a way of consolidating all of the event information and activities into a single branded app and make participants feel included in the programme flow.
The solution
Concise worked closely with the brand to provide an intuitive and interactive experience for the delegates during the event.
Concise provided
• An updatable agenda
• Biographies of all delegates
• A messaging tool for delegates to communicate with each other
• Voting with real-time result display on the main screen – It was also used for audience polling in the event version of a ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’ style game show
• A moderated ‘Ask a question’ functionality that enables questions typed by participants to directly reach the speaker and be displayed on the main screen, replacing traditional Q&A sessions
• Wordcloud – Participants could enter words describing their opinions which were automatically displayed on the large screen in a creative format
• Push presentations – PowerPoint style slides delivered directly to the iPads and controlled by the presenter
• ‘Shareprice challenge’ – a set of interactive quizzes, reading material and inputs forming a simulation designed to challenge the delegates. Team based, a leader board was updated throughout the event, with the winner announced on the last day. The iPads were integrated with and complemented existing parts of the challenge
• ‘Audio Journey’ – a virtual audio/video tour guide. Throughout the conference space there were numbered displays depicting various aspects of the Global Operations strategy, consumer insights and products. Tapping the equivalent numbered icon on the iPad played a corresponding AV clip enabling the participant to have a walk through the ‘Audio Visual’ gallery
• Note taking – Notes were automatically emailed to the delegates at the end of the event
• Event feedback – captured in real-time and provided to the organisers
• Video recording – Delegates were asked to team up in 10 groups of five to film 30 second videos that captured how they would model and bring the company’s ‘New Way of Working’ principles to life, which were then shown on the big screen
• 150 iPads
• Secure WiFi network
• Technical support on site
The results
• The application was used by 100% of delegates attending
• Over 80% of delegates completed the 21 question event feedback form
• Over 90% audience participation in interactive voting / quiz sessions
• Very positive delegate feedback: “Audio and video were brilliant ideas… The iPad, video and audios were effective and efficient”
