Synopsis ** Asa and her sisters are walking home from the village carrying heavy bags of food and flour, when a strange event takes place. On the top of a hill, standing in front of a big mountain, a noble young man is in despair. He is talking to him self, ripping pages off a book and finally swallows a little flask of poison. Asa’s curiosity causes her to freeze in front of this sight. What is this man doing? Where is all that despair coming from? She is attracted and gets too close. Suddenly there is a clash between the young man’s refusal of life and Asa’s desire to understand it. It is a clash between two worlds that shouldn’t meet. The impact will send Asa into a world of visions and dreams of a supernatural alternative to her oppressed life. Here she sees her self as free and experiences the desire to be swallowed up by the woods. Back home, her mother, aware of what happens to women in their position who show signs of rebellion, is worried but is not able to keep Asa home. Finally Asa decides to ask for help in a notorious place where a tall devilish tower stands. Here she commits her ultimate act of rebellion and becomes her other self, but paying with her life.
