ABOUT
Overview:
International SOS is a pioneer and leader in international health and security risk management. Established over 35 years ago, International SOS is now a leading global business delivering health, safety and security across the world.
The overall objective was to redesign and rebuild the International SOS website to truly reflect its value proposition, providing visitors with an outstanding digital experience and easy access to compelling and immersive content.
By understanding their users to generate more enquires and conversions through compelling content and conversion points, the new site presented dares a new direction both from a design and technical perspective, laying the groundwork for an ambitious digital future.
Challenges:
To meet the vision, Codehouse's Digital Experience teams worked closely with International SOS stakeholders to formulate high-level user journeys and persona definitions. These were then used to establish a bold design direction that conveyed the International SOS proposition and ethos.
Hi-fidelity prototypes were used to elicit feedback and evolve the design further, ensuring the site would meet the defined immediate and future needs. Technical requirements were established by working closely with International SOS's technical teams, who wanted to leverage the benefits of the latest available web infrastructure capabilities.
Solution:
Key to the delivery has been the utilisation of Sitecore's Headless capabilities, given this project was the first phase of what will become a foundational digital experience platform for International SOS. The site, the main focus of marketing and lead generation, is just one of the digital services that the organisation utilises Sitecore for. We are enhancing and migrating other digital services to the site, which form a core part of International SOS's services to its customers. These include services that provide security alerts, translations and sites that enable the customer to navigate specific challenges such as the pandemic. These services are managed by a broad and diverse range of stakeholders, including medical professionals that are based around the world.
The implementation utilises Sitecore JavaScript Services (JSS) and React on Sitecore 10.1, and is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), delivering greater flexibility, faster time to market, and cost savings when compared to more traditional methods.
The new infrastructure utilises Containers, a technology which uses Operating System Virtualisation to 'box' software with independent and isolated processes from other applications. Docker and Kubernetes (k8s) were implemented for this, along with the vast array of Amazon services for a development and deployment pipeline that is rapid, reliable, and responsive.
The International SOS Sitecore 10.1 website is bold and authoritative, reflecting their values of passion, unrivalled expertise, respect, and care. This ambitious website demonstrates the scale of International SOS's ambitions: an outstanding digital experience that lays the groundwork for their enterprising digital future.
Results:
The feedback on the site has been fantastic, and just a month after launch, the site saw an increase in traffic, pages visited per session, time spent on site, enquiries, conversions, as well as a reduction in bounce rates.
Following its launch, the new International SOS website has achieved extremely positive results after go-live:
- Over 2.1 million Pages Views, a 4.1% increase
- 163% rise in Average Session Duration
- 36% increase in Average Page Visits/Sessions
- 25% reduction in Bounce Rate
- 8.2 % increase in Returning Visitors
Emilie Dumas, Senior Group Digital Marketing Manager, said of the project, "To see the results of our collaboration go live has been an incredibly rewarding experience. We now have a website that truly represents who International SOS are to the world and clearly defines how we can support our customers. This project has felt like a true partnership from the start, and we look forward to continuing to enhance our digital presence with Codehouse over the coming years."
