Coca-Cola London

ABOUT

Share a Coke is one of Coca-Cola’s longest-running global platforms and is well-established with Gen X and Millennials, who seek out their names from thousands printed on the sides of our iconic cans and bottles.

But in South Africa, the goal for the 2025 iteration of Share a Coke was to appeal to Gen Z.

So this year, instead of just cans and bottles that are quickly enjoyed and then recycled, we also shared names on something people would hold onto - bespoke 1/1 posters designed by artists around the world. No logos, no packshots, just a connection shared between artist and audience. Physical art for a generation looking for longer-lasting connections and tangible experiences.

We chose to launch ‘Share a Poster’ in Johannesburg, where the streets are alive with street art, sticker bombs, galleries and statues. Because whilst the creative culture is vibrant here, owning any art is rare.

Most Johannesburg residents are living through a cost-of-living crisis and a massive unemployment rate, so the opportunity to own a cool piece of art that they could take home and put on their walls was a welcome opportunity for them.
