Dear Hiring Manager,

I am in the process of relocating to Hampshire with my family from Canada. I am a UK citizen and will be ready to begin employment the first week of September.

I have spent the past 6 years working as a website designer for my own business Alpha One Designs. During this time I created websites for small to medium business in both Canada and the UK. Sites have been designed with CMS (Wordpress) as well as in Dreamweaver. Using a template as a base and editing the content and PHP to add the features desired by the customer. While I can also hand code HTML, the natural progression has been to utilise the power of a Content Management System. Tools I use daily include: FTP, Wordpress front & backend, PHP & HTML editing with Dreamweaver and logo & banner creation with Photoshop & Illustrator. I am involved in the marketing, meeting clients in person, negotiating contracts and maintaining good customer service throughout the design process. Prior to working as a Website Designer, I spent some time as a staffing Recruiter for IS2 Staffing. During this time I was involved in the full recruitment process: from advertising positions, interviewing candidates over the phone and in person, negotiating contracts, cold calling and visiting clients on site. I have even further experience in Banking & Financial Services so you can rest assured I am a well versed individual with a variety of transferable skills.

My education includes 2 college diplomas, which are equivalent to a UK Foundation degree. The first is in General studies with a concentration in Psychology and the second is an Office Administration diploma with a focus on Website Design. It would take less than 1 further year at university to complete a UK Bachelor of Arts degree and I would be open to any further education or training that will aid me to advance in my career.
