I am a conscientious photographer and image editor with a diverse background which has been focussed mainly around e-commerce. I have been living in Berlin for the past eight years and plan to relocate back to Milton Keynes (Wolverton) in May.
I started working as a portrait photographer in the UK in 2008 and in 2010 I went freelance. My freelance roles were incredibly varied and included fashion, product, food, school, artwork and portrait photography. My predominant role was at at Topshop where I was personally responsible for the photography and archiving of men's fashion items under the Topman division, as well as for the photography of accessories and gifts. I am familiar with Lightroom and Capture One, Canon and Nikon and have experienced a range of lighting systems.
When I moved to Berlin in 2012 I really got stuck into retouching. I worked for a couple of the city's leading homeware and lifestyle companies using Photoshop and Lightroom to edit and retouch RAW and drop-ship images for online catalogues. I really enjoy photo-editing and have developed a keen eye for detail as well as a feel for what looks natural and consistent. Throughout my various positions, my tasks have included cutting-out, cloning, perspective alterations, making lens and colour corrections, removing/adding objects to an image, adjusting typography and performing quality control. Having worked in fast-paced e-commerce environments, I know how to manage my time and my files effectively in order to meet deadlines and work efficiently. I can use a Mac or PC and I like to work with a graphics tablet.
I have recently completed several courses in Adobe Photoshop to further enhance my retouching skills and I am currently enjoying the freedom of retouching more creatively. Some examples of my recent explorations can be found in my portfolio. I have also completed a course in Adobe Illustrator. Most recently, I did some freelance work for Chal-tec; one of Berlin's very current electronic and lifestyle companies.
