ABOUT
The House That Lulu Built
Brand Identity, Illustration & Website Design
A comprehensive brand development and design project for The House That Lulu Built — a nonprofit bereavement organization based in Greenville, Ohio founded in memory of Lulu, the director's daughter who lived only a few hours. The organization uses that loss as a foundation to support others navigating grief — providing community, education, and a welcoming facility for families experiencing loss.
The project required a visual identity that balanced warmth and tenderness with quiet strength — reflecting the organization's mission of walking alongside people in their most vulnerable moments.
Deliverables included the Lulu logo — a distinctive mark built around the bubble motif that runs throughout the brand — full website design and development on the Wix platform, and an ongoing series of illustration work supporting the organization's programs and events. Illustration projects include a Camp Lulu t-shirt design and a keepsake handkerchief design — each piece requiring a delicate touch that honors the emotional weight of the organization's mission while remaining accessible and warm.
This is the kind of project that demands illustration do more than decorate — it has to hold space for something real.
