Commissioned as part of a collaboration between Visit Sweden and wilderness expedition company Do The North to create travel imagery showcasing Sweden’s Gryt Archipelago and the country’s tradition of Allemansrätten. The freedom to roam.

Over the course of a week, I travelled by kayak through the archipelago, wilderness camping on a different island each night and documenting the landscapes and experience along the way. Working independently and carrying equipment between locations meant responding to changing weather, available light and remote environments, from early-morning sunrises to the archipelago’s night skies.

The resulting imagery was created to promote the region and the experience of exploring Sweden’s wilderness.
