I've been working in written communication - be it as a journalist, editor, bid writer or copywriter - since snagging a job as a film reviewer and illustrator on the school newspaper back when I was just a little boy.
Since then, I've actually studied journalism properly, plus advertising, filmmaking, radio, photography, graphic design and even screenwriting; and attempted to embark on some sort of career - ie I moved to London and hoped for the best.
It worked. I started in financial journalism - hedge funds etc, helped some friends start a film magazine, and then landed a job as the editor of a national business magazine.
There I learned how to do everything from building and managing teams to being the public face of a publication and everything in-between.
In 2005, I crossed to the dark side - advertising - and became a copywriter, and bid writer. Once you've crossed over to the dark side, crossing The Channel is easy, so I now live in France which is nice.
