About me
I am a knowledgeable designer and who has 3 years' experience in web design from both my own freelance work and working for web agencies.
I love designing, and am incredibly enthusiastic about web design, front end development, UI design and UX. Working as a web designer provides a challenging and rewarding environment, and gives me an opportunity to focus on the user experience that is the pivotal part of any business. I thrive on the ever changing environment of web and find it rewarding; which encourages me to learn more and stay on top at all times.
- Redesigned and developed pages inside of auto CMS NetDirector to increase client ease of use.
- Significantly improved aesthetics, formatting, and navigation of Playtimes, a large toy E-commerce retailer located in Shropshire.
- Worked on with two very big clients, Mazda UK's and Lookers on both their mobile and desktop based websites, offering advice and making design decisions alongside my front end team.
My current employment at Sticky Lizard as a Designer has allowed me to explore my creative ability. I have been involved in numerous projects for the company, ranging from full scale UI redesigns of several of their internal websites, to print design for a large range of scooters. Involved in the concept and wire framing through to final design and sign off with the client, I have learnt a lot about best practices for sites and how to structure my work effectively. Working in a small close team requires everyone putting in that extra workload; My front end skills have also developed a lot whilst working at Sticky Lizard.
My prior employment as a front end developer at Gforces involved sketching site build concepts during client meetings, concept design and development through to the final design and front end implementation. This included developing the site in HTML & CSS and integrating front end interactions using Javascript and Jquery. The role taught me a great deal about working to client specification and standards as well as working very closely to wc3 standards and legacy browser support. The significant amount of QA and bug testing that was involved taught me how to fix and tweak site to meet the clients' needs. Working for big clients such as Mazda and Lookers improved my knowledge of web design for a large scale business, contributing to my varied experience.
