About me

My name is Christopher Alarcon and I was born in Britain with a Spanish background. My highest qualification achieved at the moment is my BA (Hons) 2:1 Degree in Digital Animation Specialist. I am mostly a PC user and I can't live without my Wacom Pen Tablet.

I have always been a creative and an extremely hard working person when it comes to something that I enjoy doing, and that is animating and graphic designing. I can consider myself to be an unhealthy worker with the hunger to get given challenges and briefs. I always attend to classes and meetings on time without fail and I'm very punctual when it comes to meeting deadlines.

I have specialised myself in 2D animation for more than 8 years with the love of creating vector based graphics in Flash. I have incorporated with this particular software for making logos, banners, web designs, animated shorts, illustrations, animated prototypes for games, interactive presentations for pitching purposes and animated Gif files for online instant messaging programmes such as MSN.

Ever since I left University I had trouble with finding chances into getting involved in the animation/illustration and games industry. This then led me to taking an open opportunity into working full-time as a Dental Technician to support myself and earn a living. During this unfortunate profession I still made time for myself into creating illustrations, gameplay prototypes and web designing.

It came to a recent decision that I'm really determined to follow my dream and chose to work part-time in the laboratory instead to focus on improving my portfolio and to have more time to animate. I have a good relationship with my boss and the dental job role involved me working in a team, working under pressure to deadlines and to communicate with each other within the working environment.

I recently entered and published a 10 second animated clip for the T.V. channel E4 Stings competition 2011. This was a great opportunity for me to get back into the habit of animating with a chance of it being broadcast live with the power of votes.
