Design a photo-essay, on a subject of your own choice that communicates a strong visual narative.

The photo-essay must have creative use of sound that should give the viewer an experience of what might be happening.

After some debate about what topic I should do, I decided to take a kettle, as it is an everyday item. It is an item that people use all the time, but don’t pay much attention to.

This is part of my reason for choosing this topic as it is harder to do a photo-essay on an inanimate object that is taken for granted.

I photographed the kettle in it’s natural enviroment using studio lights which, allowed me to make the kettle look sexy in it’s daily life.

For the sound I used a lot of cafe noises to invoke a feeling in the viewer of a busy morning that is in progress while a kettle boils in the background.
