Label Design

Bad Joke is a new start up brewery. They do not have any heritage or any association with location. They want to portray themselves as a vibrant brand that produces great beer.

Bad Joke Brew Co bottle of choice is a short 330ml bottle. When designing the bottle I focused on the hierarchy of information. “Peroxide” was the main focus point so I hand lettered a bold gothic illustrative lettering do give the personality of burning bleach. I also hand lettered Bad Joke Brew Co to create a balance with the Futura Bold, which is my font of choice with its contemporary form that displays the information clearly at a small size. I have placed an opaque background comprised of the reflected word “peroxide” to give the bottle some layers and depth whilst adding a handmade stamp to the bottle to add authority and detail. The bold bright yellow colour is reflective of the blonde beer style, which when sat against the other bottles of the core range will be a part of a series.
