ABOUT
Brief
Choose a classic novel and then interpret the text visually for a specific audience. Consider format and the physical size and shape of the piece.
Concept
The robin is a key motif throughout the novel, befriending the young girl and helping her to explore and discover. This theme of reveal and discovery has inspired my solution. I have chosen the target audience of young girls between the
age of 5-11 as I feel a modern audience could learn a lot from the positive thinking which is encouraged in the novel.
Solution
By using fold out pages I have portrayed the theme of discovery through the format of the book. Layering, and
overprinting imagery to add depth, emphasises this sense of discovery. I have chosen 12 sections of the book in which the young girl finds out new things. The robin will guide the reader through the book, in the same way that he guides the young girl during her time on the moors.
