ABOUT
Born from the success of Astrology Tuesdays in the Bumble app, Zodia was a bold new venture from Bumble Inc, a standalone astrology and dating app tailored to Gen Z.
From Gen Z-focused research and design ideation to full brand creation (logo, colour, type, art direction and design systems), I helped shape every visual element of the app and its launch. Each star sign had its own colour based on the elements, and its own logo using variable type, which we applied across every brand touchpoint. One of my favourite contributions was the concept of a personalised badge system: each user received a unique badge in app, made from a combination of three colours representing their sun, moon, and rising signs, with their profile photo placed inside, making every badge distinct and meaningful. We brought the elements to life visually through photography (fire, earth, water, air), creating a system that felt rich, symbolic, and personal. I also art directed the launch photoshoot in Australia, from styling to location briefs, and worked closely with product to design UI that was expressive, intuitive, and true to the Zodia world. The result was a vibrant, emotionally intelligent brand that felt totally unique to each user.
