My interest is to use photographic media to express my thoughts and communicate with others.
When I learnt to take photographic portraits, I was deeply inspired by the ideas and techniques from classical painting – the lighting, composition, colour and more importantly how they tell the story. A lot of classical painters use the background scene, the dress code and props to the viewers who is in the painting, when and where they are.
I am using these ideas and applying them in my work as a different perspective – which is asking the viewer to think and interpret the image themselves. Moreover, I have applied appropriation in my work and wish viewers review the aesthetic aspect in both present and old time.
