ABOUT
BRIEF;
To depict the art scene within one of the UK's primary cities, in any artistic medium which can be replicated in print.
MY PIECE;
A quintessentially London trademark, Cockney rhyming slang originates from London's East End and infamously associates itself with the traditional London Cabbie. My piece illuminates a diverse cross-section of artistic centres: from theatre and music at the Royal Albert Hall to the juxtaposition of classical art at the National Gallery with it's contemporary rivals at Shoreditch's 'Village Underground'. One's exploration is illustrated through the wandering Frog and Toad - whom translate as Road in Cockney Rhyming slang - Whereby Uber customers may travel. Essentially, it proposes accessible spur of the moment cultural detours, to be made on your journey through our ever-evolving and inspiring city.
