ABOUT

KTN's #GRIPS2021 event covered problems facing the UK regarding plastic waste, innovative solutions and best practise to reduce waste and improve the rate of recycling.

The commission called for us to visualise the process of plastic recycling and the positive impact it has on both manufacturing and the environment. We teamed up with Blue Caribou Productions to produce an opening and closing ident for their webinars.

It was a great opportunity for us to be involved with a project that was fun and creatively fulfilling, while closely aligned to our values on the environment and important causes within the UK.

Focused on plastic sustainability, we decided to take viewers on a colourful trip through the stages of recycling.

The process was streamlined and presented as one continuous shot, visualising key moments in the journey.

Plastic is collected from the ocean, sent to recycling plants and manufactured into crisp packets. As the crisp packet is dropped into a recycling bin, it sets off on the journey once more as it repeats the cycle all over again.

A strong colour script was essential for developing an appealing world while matching KTN's brand style.

Unique colour palettes were applied to each location to clearly separate each stage of the process while also adding variety to the scenes.

The designs feature a mixture of vibrant outlines and block colour silhouettes, reflecting a fun and positive outlook on recycling and the environment.
