Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to apply for the position of Content Writer and Social Media Editor, which you have recently advertised online.

In October 2014, I graduated with a First Class degree in English Literature from the University of Greenwich. For six months, I worked as a full-time Creative Copywriter for the company Holiday Extras, during which time it was my job to visit, research and review hotels around the country before writing them up for the company's website. I wrote the copy for around 50 hotels during my time with the company, as well as rewriting and updating some of their older products, utilising several content managing systems for both tasks.

Following my employment with Holiday Extras, I have since been working on my own creative writing projects, from blogging to writing film scripts for student short films. I am now seeking a new challenge within the writing industry.

Along with my CV, I have included several examples of my travel copy from my time at Holiday Extras, as well as links to two online posts I wrote as a guest contributor for the film website, Moviepilot.

I know at present I may have little to offer in terms of experience, but what I lack in this area, I make up for in my passion for writing. I am a young, enthusiastic and creative individual, and would love to be considered for a position within your company.
