About me

I have been working within the digital media industry since September 2006 and have recently graduated from City University with an MSc in Electronic Publishing. I have an undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature from St Catherine's College, Oxford University. I have been working as a freelance web developer/designer since 2007, including a period recently working as a designer and web applications developer for a national newspaper website.

I possess advanced skills in XHTML, CSS, Ajax and JavaScript for front-end design/development work and PHP/MYSQL for back-end development (including developing custom WordPress themes). I have experience with a number of Content Management Systems and developing applications on Facebook and Google/Opensocial platforms.

Prior to studying for my masters I was working within the Search Engine Optimisation and Search Marketing industry, primarily for large international publishing clients. In addition to high-quality technical design and development skills I have over twelve months of experience as an account manager with a digital marketing agency, which has given me a strong understanding of the way digital media functions within the business models of large companies.
