ABOUT

Air Burkina 50th Anniversary Magazine

Designed to commemorate Air Burkina’s 50th golden jubilee, this publication captures half a century of West African aviation history through meticulous editorial design, custom typography, and a structured grid layout tailored for a premium print experience.

The design balances historical reverence with a modern aesthetic, utilizing a disciplined column grid to manage bilingual storytelling and dense archival timelines. Typography played a central role in setting the tone: clean, highly readable serif headers anchor the historical gravitas of the airline's milestones, paired with crisp grotesque sans-serif body copy for effortless legibility across feature spreads.
Design & Editorial Highlights:

Custom Editorial Grids: A flexible multi-column modular layout designed to seamlessly harmonize heavy archival text, vintage photography, and high-impact pull quotes.

Typographic Hierarchy: Carefully paired display and text typefaces that reflect both corporate prestige and mid-century modern heritage.

Visual Pacing: Dynamic spread layouts that alternate between immersive full-bleed imagery, structured data timelines, and clean, white-space-driven editorial features.

Heritage Color Palette: Deep, rich tones paired with vibrant accent hues drawn from the carrier's livery and national identity.
