ABOUT

I was briefed with creating an illustrated front and back cover for melodic skate-punk bands Old Chase and The Upshot, released by Cats Claw Records.


In-keeping with the political and disorderly tone of the music and the narrative of the lyrics, I wanted to create a chaotic riot scene for the front of the vinyl, leading into the contrasting back cover which depicts the same scene in an elaborate theatre setting. Here the wealthy audience are laughing and jeering at the mayhem unfolding onstage. The juxtaposition of this narrative acts as a social commentary, conveying the disruption and inequality that stems from the class system.
