The Nike JN Series is a concept design that explored the integration of minimal design on to a pair of Nike snowboard boots, providing a discrete ‘story’.

Ok so all of us who ski or board know that 90% of the time our boots are covered, whether by baggy pants, super skinny pants, or super awesome bindings. So what is the point?

Most female riders will shamefully admit that however much they try not to their choice is slight controlled by appearance, that being said I know male riders who appreciate visual as well as product design. (At this point I would like to state that this project is purely conceptual and claims no connection to Nike Snowboarding or Jamie Nicholls!)

Design can be over the top and in snowboarding there is no exception; we have even seen light up boots. So how can we go about adding subtle illustration whilst also retaining a ‘it’s only a boot’ ideology?

The Nike JN Series encompasses the terms ‘send it’ and ‘unleash the beast’ without seeming to cliché, the clawed Nike swoosh/tick could be perceived as the result of the beast, or more over a stand against global corporation in snowsports.

That is a bit deep! This series is all about unleashing and shredding to the end!
