'BEACH' IS PART OF THE WOMANHOOD SERIES, EXPLORING NATURAL STATES OF BEING. GREAT EMOTIONAL DEPTH IS CONVEYED WITHIN THE POETRY (HAND EMBROIDERED IN SILK THREADS), PROVIDING A RHYTHM TO THE SEA, MUCH LIKE THE CRESTS OF WAVES BREAKING IN THE DISTANCE. A HIGHLY TEXTURAL CREATION, WITH OLD CRUSHED VELVET, ENDORSED WITH SEQUINS GLINTING IN THE LIGHT, THE DEPTH OF THE KNAPP DESCRIBING THE SAND BEAUTIFULLY. AND A BLACK LACE PANEL EVOKES THE SEAWEED I USED TO COLLECT FROM ROCK POOLS AS A CHILD, WITH OLD BUTTONS AND MOTHER OF PEARL ENDORSING THE SAND BARS BETWEEN A SIMPLE STRUCTURAL LAYOUT.
PRINTS PROVIDE A DETAILED DIALOGUE OF THE ORIGINAL TEXTILE.

I am a textile artist and create the original textile wall hangings and prints featured in the blogs I post on my website https://www.ccunningham-textileartist.com/ and various social networks. My textiles are highly embellished, including hand embroidered poetry which adds an emotional depth to a number of pieces. There are two collections:

The Natural Collection, which includes abstract flower design, seasonal variations, religion, india and buddhism, childhood nostalgia.

The Womanhood Collection, which includes woman (love, fertility, breast cancer and natural states of being) and sexuality (a range of abstract depictions of sexual being).
