shockwave is Ruroc's very own audio and communications device that attaches seamlessly with Ruroc helmets. During my time at Ruroc we launched three variants of these units to combine with each helmet design; RG1-DX, ATLAS & Lite. There were multiple limiting factors to bare in mind with this project, including safety, ensuring that designs fit and function worked well with previous versions of the RG1-DX, helmets that were never built with audio in their product road map, and of course great audio & communications quality in harsh mountainous conditions.

With a lack of CAD data on this helmet, this proved to be tricky. However, shockwave audio and communications devices have been a huge success - roughly 60% of helmets are now sold with a Shockwave or ShockPod unit.
