Dear Sphere Digital Recruitment,

My name is Cath and I am a savvy copywriter and digital editor. I am writing to you today to enquire about the Digital Copywriter opportunity offered by your establishment.

I graduated from Kingston University of London with a BAHons degree in Creative Writing with English Literature in late September 2013. Post graduation, I undertook various internship and work experience opportunities within the print and digital publishing industries; I also pursued work as a freelance web content writer, until June this year, during which time I began working as a Web Product Launch Assistant (Copywriter) with the John Lewis Partnership, where I completed a five month contract under an agency, Atwood Tate. I am well versed in copywriting and copyediting skills such as CMS content management systems, SEO and keyword tagging, Web PIM, Markdown coding and basic HTML coding.

Being energetically enthusiastic, ambitious and dedicated, I am always keen for new challenges. I am also a followed blogger on Wordpress with three sites under my admin which I update on an ad hoc basis. These blogs include a specialist book review blog titled Beyond The Last Page, dedicated to reviewing some of my most enjoyed (or in contrast, less enjoyed) works of literary fiction, spanning across all genres, but most specifically young adult fantasy fiction. This use of web and blog creation tools, in conjunction with social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, has given me a keen and critical awareness of the advantages of maintaining good channels and relations with social media networks in order to market material.

I am keen to expand my knowledge of the e-commerce industry particularly, as I already have relevant and recent experience in this particular industry, and I was particularly intrigued by this role because of the wide variety of intrinsically interesting tasks and responsibilities that it entails; I think it would allow me to truly diversify my writing experience and challenge my current limitations, enabling me to grow and develop as both a writer and editor by nurturing and expanding my current skill set. I have an inherent willingness to learn and I want to grow and absorb as much experience as I can within these industries in order to continue progressively improving myself, as well as also honing and refining my pre-existing writing and editing skills.
