ABOUT
Anything is possible in our Painted Kingdom, from flying pigs to monkeys with tiger-striped coats. Inspired by Persian miniatures and classic wallpaper designs, Our print design team created a dream-like magical world with an imaginary cast of characters using the gouache technique on parchment paper. Like the female artist who painted her surroundings during lockdown of a world she wants to live in, Painted Kingdom takes us on a journey to happier days.
For this season’s dinosaur print we hand-painted our dinosaurs and used animal prints to give them a fantastical element. Keeping with the theme of painted animal kingdoms, abstract magical details mean the dinos are a hybrid between tigers and leopards and dinos – the prints are inspired by ancient drawings of Tibetan tigers where they use graphic patterns on top of the tiger.
We brought these prints to life in our Piccadilly store with a huge installation of all of the key animals from our prints - creating theatrical moments and bringing the fun and playful nature of our prints to life.
