I am very interested in a part time position within the range of Copywriter, Copy Editor or Assistant Editor. I believe my diverse background makes me an ideal candidate:
· I have been a teacher with several years experience: I can quickly spot errors in copy and suggest amendments, focusing on ease of reading and flow of ideas. Also, this experience has taught me to relate to a wide range of people, to understand their viewpoint and to effectively communicate my own.
· My strong science background means I can be trusted to copyedit with knowledge of content.
· I have a year's experience as a copy editor for a website: I can be trusted to research an unfamiliar topic and write a concise review on it while keeping to deadline.
· I have also researched, written and edited a section for a science encyclopedia aimed at the general public. It was published on the 9th of October.
