In the face of increasing threats to civic space worldwide, Publish What You Pay wanted to develop a long-term strategic response to support and empower its membership. As part of this, factsheets would be produced to educate and inform members on the tools, tactics, actions and mechanisms that can help secure and safeguard an enabled civic space.

The factsheet focused on the link between human rights, vulnerable groups and the extractives industry. It was designed with needs of the end users - PWYP members - as the primary focus. The goal was to provide a set of accessible educational tools that translate complex information and concepts into practical, applicable and context-relevant guides.
