Concept: NerdWallet reminded you on Christmas Day to organize your retirement affairs…in song! We collaborated with NerdWallet and Deutsch LA to bring their musical spots to life, shot by Jim Jenkins at O Positive.

Execution: With musical comedy spots, the lyrics make or break the concept, so BUTTER brought out the big guns. We enlisted Amanda Green to draft the lyrics, whose famous Broadway work includes Mr. Saturday Night, Bring It On: The Musical, and Hands on a Hard Body, for which she won Tony and Grammy awards and nominations, and worked with Lin-Manuel Miranda and Billy Crystal.

Results: NerdWallet saw strong performance against NerdWallet brand-related terms after launch, increasing by 24% compared to pre-campaign, which garnered 72.95M impressions over its holiday release. The campaign was a Music and Sound Awards 2024 Finalist, earned merit awards from D&AD and The One Show, and earned a Cannes Lions Shortlist for Best Original Music.
