ABOUT
Brief in brief:
To define a vision for the future of modern cider (and Bulmers’ role within it) bringing it to life across brand identity, packaging graphics, bottle structure and visual identity system.
Our thinking and doing:
125 years of successful cider-making had all started with some motherly careers advice, a 500-mile tandem apple hunt and a pony-powered stone press. We wanted to deliver this rich history within a design that would act as a beacon for modern cider. It needed to feel like a timeless classic but have a contemporary twist; be modern and simple but have crafted touches of detail; and feature bold flashes of colour to excite our target audience.
We captured Bulmers’ colourful past in a way that felt bold and modern, elevating the famous Bulmers ‘B’ with a confident simplicity – a clear nod to contemporary craft. Fred and Percy, still aboard their famous tandem, now sit proudly on the bottle neck label - a constant reminder of the character and inventiveness that first kick-started the Bulmers journey. The result balances modernity and authenticity with bold fun and flair, all wrapped up in a smaller, more unisex bottle.
