ABOUT

The project was created in an order of celebration for the 100th anniversary of the RAF. Visit Lincoln wanted a heavy focus of the Royal Air Force, with a hint of Steampunk but at the same time still making it obviously about Lincoln as well. They asked not to use Logo's obviously, or use the main iconography of Lincoln, such as the cathedral. It had to be child appropriate, and aimed towards the audience of their magazine readership. After researching into the art styles of steampunk, and old RAF posters I insisted in creating the final image with sepia tones to replicate those found. After trial and error, sketching and re-sketching I settled on the final composition, and went ahead to create the final product. The type was a last minute decision, but I feel it adds structure to the image, and was well worth adding.
