About me

Dear Creativepool,

I'm writing with regards to the position of Freelance Writer as advertised on your website. I have a degree in journalism backed up with over seven years' experience in the media, public relations and marketing sectors.

I have recently left a full-time position at a PR agency to focus on freelance writing and PR, specialising in the live event and creative sectors.

I am a highly competent writer - whether it's news stories, SEO-optimized blog posts or full-length features or whitepapers.

I'm always op top of the latest industry trends, and am never afraid to ask the questions needed to get right to the heart of a story. My copy is engaging, accurate and always on time.

Past relevant experience includes:

- I ran the successful blog, and as a result, became a contributor to US-based PR Daily. Unfortunately, I had to stop blogging as it was against the contract of my last full-time position. Now I'm freelance, I'll be re-launching a refreshed site soon

- I have written extensively about the marketing and live events markets, both as a freelance journalist and behalf of clients whose PR I have managed.

Example articles include:

Total Production International magazine (pages 24-26), The Rise of RFID at Festivals:

Facetime magazine: four different features on topics including projection mapping, RFID, and experiential campaigns for Manchester City FC and O2:

Stand Out magazine (pages 16 and 26), two different event review features - the relocation of the Ideal Home Show exhibition and Save the Children's charity gala:

- I also ghost write articles for clients.

Examples include:

Lack of strategy and its impact on internal communications:

Live events can't ignore the cashless society:

Get the best from your brand ambassadors:

The role with Creativepool really appeals to me, and I feel confident that I could really add value to your team by covering the events, public relations, marketing, technology and creative job-hunting sectors.

With regards to the other skills needed:

- Press release writing
- Beginner Photoshop skills
- Strong eye for photography
- Active online presence and following

I hope that my application shows my relevant skills and experience, and I'd love to have the opportunity to talk to you about my application in person.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Brooke Nolan
