ABOUT

Tennis Blues

I made a sadboy Integra. I took my favourite generation of the Honda / Acura Integra and I made it a sadboy car. How fun.

This model was initially meant to be used for engine testing and benchmarks, with the ultimate goal being finding a suitable replacement for LuxCore. As it stands it produces gorgeous imagery but it is significantly slower than every other engine available. In addition, the built-in denoiser makes a mess of smaller details.

These renders came from A/B tests, where I would take an image from each engine and set them side by side. All renders presented were the product of an experimental build of LuxCore.

Gotham

The four round headlights gave the original car a unique and distinct look. It was perhaps the most recognizable front throughout the years. Naturally, I had to mess with it by covering the inner two pods. I also cut up the front bumper as it helped test multiple materials and shades of paint in a single render. Thankfully I kept renders where all panes were painted the same color.

Moving on along the car, you may notice the wheels borrowed from the 911 GT1 I worked on a few weeks back. And if you direct your attention to the rear and rear quarter windows you will noticed I replaced them with a massive plexi-plastic-polarised monstrosity for "weight reduction". This monstrosity allowed me to test polarised glass-adjacent materials which I intend on keep using.

Finally, I took a perfectly sensible JDM rear and I made it less sensible. The taillights are now covers for the fuel door and possibly the battery terminals. The lights themselves have been moved into the freshly cut rear bumper. No reassembly this time as the goal was to emulate some of the most iconic race car designs.

I deleted the wing, it looks cleaner this way. Look out for new badges too.

Red Solo

No association with the brand or product but it is a red car standing alone in an empty set. It also sounds like a plausible name for a build. Possibly best used on a single seater but here we are.

I joked about this being a sadboy car realier but the truth is this build and livery were inspired by cleaner sadboy and sadgirl builds. By mixing that particular style with some of the most discrete Japanese racing liveries I arrived at this (hopefully) retrofuturistic look. The stretched race number mixed with the script font advertising for... something makes for an (again, hopefully) interesting look.

No widebody because as much as I like them sometimes you just want a cleaner look.
