Faraway Shots

In one final look at this set and model combination, I bring you a series of shots "taken" from a grater distance. These were the result of an internal debate about whether to position the camera up close to better showcase the model, or farther away to give the set, the background its own chance to shine.

As you may have noticed, a great deal of effort went into developing this background area. Based on the Cerro Pelón ranch, the goal was to create a backdrop which felt grounded.
Over my journey as a 3D artist I have mostly showcased simple or discrete backgrounds in order to focus on the models themselves. As such, while not neglected, these "sets" have always leaned towards simplicity and solid colors with easy to read shapes.
Thus, in order to better my craft, I looked to develop a more complex environment. A place which would look at the very least plausible. Somewhere that could actually exist.

As a result, I was naturally tempted to produce quite a few renders which take advantage of this new setting. The model is still present, but is no longer the only point of interest.
