ABOUT
Bold Curves
There is something unique about adapting the aesthetics of a racecar for use outside the track. There is no need to explain why it is done. But it is interesting that a racecar and a racecar-inspired car nowadays look completely different. It is as if there is a very specific rulebook no-one has access to and yet everyone understands. Practicality be damned. Show must come with go to back it up. And most importantly, if something looks cooler this way, then it shall be done this very way.
It is from this etherial rulebook that this current trio of builds was born. All three are based on roadcars whose track-going version carries an outrageous design. With their "civilian" counterparts not far behind.
For this second entry I submit a very modified C8 Corvette. Starting with the front, the headlights have been covered up. Their beams relocated to share the position with their track counterparts. The design is, however, a bit bolder. And immediately next to them, the painted fangs on the carbon fiber shell help bring to light the theatrics of a vampire-inspired car.
Throughout the body, additions can be found to make the build stand out from the usual crowd. Panel latches carry the battle-ready look. As well as the LED numbers on the side, entirely customisable to the driver's preference. A few details of the aero have also been tweaked to make for an aggressive and yet civilised look.
And finally, all care is lost once we get to the rear.An entirely custom design from the rear axle back. It features four winglets brought over from the C8R, the racing version of the C8. These are used to create an S-shaped lightning bolt motif, as seen from the side. With the top two wings carrying the look of classic American cars and fighter jets. And perhaps more characteristic of this design, Dracula's cape.
Final touches include the reinforced windshield with sunstrip, courtesy of the race-ready carbon fiber cockpit. The diffuser borrowed from the C8R. The additional air intake just behind the rear window. And some centerlock wheels, "because racecar".
