To provide a pedestrian connection between two green areas in Augsburg, Studio Bruch Architecture created a minimalistic bridge design that could also allow huge trucks to occasionally pass under. The extra space needed for the large vehicles is created by the exposed gear mechanism which flips the bridge over. In bringing out the cyberpunk style our client was inspired by, we emphasized the gear system of the bridge through futuristic lighting techniques against a rainy nighttime environment.
