Almost two million people are living with sight loss, despite over 50% of sight loss being preventable*. Vision Express has been at the forefront of a push since 2014 to get the industry and public to acknowledge the importance of a sight test, amid a worsening outlook for the nation’s eye health.
As part of the ongoing ‘Vision. Taken Seriously’ campaign, Vision Express partnered with Dare to create an impactful TV advert called ‘Eyewitness’. Sir Trevor McDonald, the veteran newsreader, makes his advertising debut in the TV spot.
Footage of Sir Trevor during significant moments in history spanning his 40-year-plus career takes viewers back to historical events such the fall of the Berlin Wall and Ronald Regan’s appointment as US President. Concluding with the poignant message ‘look after your eyes and they could last a lifetime’.
