Set by Created Academy, a refresh was required for their Motion Design course brand film. Using an existing script containing 14 keywords, the film had to inspire prospective students through a celebration of motion. Completed as part of the Motion Design Professional course by Created Academy.

Each keyword is visualised as a gateway, marking an amassing of knowledge as the student progresses towards their goal.

Importing the style frames to After Effects, much experimentation was required to ensure ‘Mentored’ progressed unhindered through the rotating doorways. For extra visual intrigue, noise and splatter were added as secondary animation.

Making use of invisible spheres to drive the dynamics of the terrain, speed and gravity were adjusted to optimise the explosion. A rock texture heightens realism, whilst animated noise displacement was used to flow the magma.

Timing became paramount whilst creating both shots, constant playback with the voice-over ensuring peak moments lined up.
