Nothing makes us prouder than to work with companies who are at the forefront of what they do, which is why we were delighted to place an excellent Mid-Weight Designer into Arup. As always, we were keen to get into Arup’s offices so we could really understand their company culture and dynamics, as well as drill down into the brief and truly understand what they were after. It was instantly clear that as a company who always strive to be the best, they weren’t going to settle for anything less!

THE COMPANY
Arup was founded in 1945 with an initial focus on structural engineering; they first came to the world’s attention with the structural design of the Sydney Opera House. An independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services, Arup are continually looking for talented people to join their ever-growing multidisciplinary organisation.

THE ROLE
Arup approached Blue Skies to help them find a mid-weight Designer. They wanted someone who had a strong level of experience across print, photography, design and multi-media. They were looking for someone that was passionate, ambitious and who continually strived to be number one.

THE PERFECT CANDIDATE
Looking for her next challenge after recently being made redundant, the successful candidate was an in-house designer with a strong all-round experience that fitted Arup’s skill requirements perfectly. Creative and competent, she instantly impressed at initial stages. Her ambition and drive proved the deal breaker, confirming that she was the right candidate for the job, and for Arup.
