ABOUT
Concept
We created the campaign line and platform:
I AM POSSIBLE – Understand My Epilepsy
The idea was born from direct conversations with young people living with epilepsy. Time and time again, we heard that the biggest challenge wasn’t the condition itself — it was how others misunderstood it.
So the concept reframed epilepsy not as a limitation, but a part of someone’s identity that, when properly understood, makes full inclusion possible. We flipped the narrative from what epilepsy takes away, to what understanding it can unlock.
The campaign had to do more than raise awareness — it had to drive change in schools, communities, and Parliament. And it had to centre the voices of young people every step of the way.
Execution
We developed the full creative platform — from the line and visual identity to the tone of voice, messaging framework, and digital tools.
Key campaign elements included:
• A hero brand film, crafted from unscripted interviews with young people, sharing real stories of living with epilepsy. It was emotional, raw and resonant — and became the emotional heart of the campaign.
• A youth-written manifesto laying out what true inclusion looks like — in their own words.
• A suite of static and animated assets, featuring portraits, quote cards and manifesto lines, tailored for use across social media, schools and OOH.
• Classroom resources, editable posters, and toolkits for teachers, fundraisers and youth groups.
• A digital email-your-MP tool empowering the public to demand improved school support.
• A national campaign rollout during National Epilepsy Week and again during the autumn policy cycle.
• Strategic messaging packs for internal teams, regional ambassadors and campaigners.
The visual and verbal identity was designed to flex across fundraising, education, awareness and policy work — ensuring consistency but allowing for localisation and personalisation.
The campaign was also picked up by national media, with the campaign film broadcast on BBC One’s The One Show.
Results
• Adopted as the core campaign platform by Young Epilepsy across all policy, comms and inclusion activity.
• Campaign film shortlisted at the 2025 Charity Film Awards and featured on BBC One’s The One Show, reaching a national audience.
• 16,163 petition signatures demanding that UK governments ensure every child with epilepsy has an Individual Healthcare Plan (IHP).
• 583 personal messages sent to MPs, spanning 368 UK constituencies — covering 55% of the country.
• Government responses received across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, each committing to review or improve guidance for schools on supporting children with medical needs.
• Thousands of downloads of classroom and campaign toolkits.
• Community-led impact, with young people quoting campaign lines in schools, youth groups and even Parliament.
• Clear policy traction — with the campaign helping shift epilepsy inclusion up the education agenda across the UK.
This campaign didn’t just raise awareness — it created space for young people to speak, and be heard.
